high fever

This is the first time that Justin has a high fever ever since he was born. Count it a blessing a what.

But i must say, i was really a bit at a loss at what to do last night.

He was still looking fine on monday night, except that for the past few days, he has not been drinking much of his milk, and appetite has dropped. So i already suspected something amiss. Add to the fact that my mother in law suddenly caught a severe flu on monday (and she was taking care of Justin the whole of monday), i think somehow, he caught the flu virus in a way.

By tuesday afternoon, i think the fever won the battle. And by the time i came back from work, his forehead was hot, but both hands and feet were freezing cold. And when i changed him, we noticed that his body was starting to have red patches. So we knew it was not just the low grade fever anymore.

We rushed over to the PD, and actually when we reached there, PD was already closed cos he was rushing to the hospital. I told the nurse that Justin was having fever and he even vomitted on the car on the way, and he has not taken milk for the whole day. Thank God, the PD heard and decided to just see Justin before he take off. Heng man..

He took his temperature and it was 39.3 degrees celsius!!! When we took his temperature at home, it was only 37.8. Think the thermometer can throw away liaoz.
So he gave the repository pill that is supposed to be stuck into the anus, to bring down the fever quickly and prescribed him some medication. Due for review on thursday night.

I was really expecting a tough night ahead. But i really thank God for a good kid. Other than the initial part when we tried to put the cooling plaster on his forehead, which only stayed there for ehm.. 30seconds before he tore it off, and another 1 hour to put him to bed, he only woke up once during the night and the next feed at 6am, when his fever went up again. After giving him medication and a bottle of milk, pat him for another hour before he went off to lala land for another 2 hours.

Just as i expected, the whole morning, he was super whiny and sticky. Even his favourite ball ball never interest him. Haiz.

Next few days going to be a tough period for me. year end closing and all the datelines coming up. God, i pray for strength and speedy recovery for Justin!!!

blessed xmas!

the long awaited xmas that we all wait for 364 days since 2009 is over just like that. Time passes so fast on that few days and before we knew it, it is over and its now time to start to prepare for the arrival of a new year.

actually, xmas seems to start much earlier than 25th December itself. because our church usually have the candlelight services one week before xmas and usually by then, everyone is already in a xmassy mood. Not forgetting all the gift exchanges, gathering, feasting and shopping for presents and wrapping them up nicely. Xmas is my fave time of the year!!!

This year is Justin's second xmas, cos last year, he was just slightly over a month old during xmas, and frankly, i dont think he remembers anything even though he already receive quite a lot of presents last year (neither does mummy!!) hahaha

This year, he is definitely more aware, and he is soo happy opening / tearing / pulling open all the wrappers, and it was really quite amusing to see his reaction when he saw his presents.
We tried to capture some pictures of him opening the presents, and could not capture any decent shots.. all were blurred!!!
So i shall ask from other photographers and try to lay my hands on those photos.

Meanwhile, that night, after he opened all his presents, we managed to get him to sit with all his new friends to take a picture....

these are all justin's new friends!!

And for the record!!!

Edward carried justin for the very first time after he is born!!! haha.a..

such an historic moment that i must capture this!!! Kekekekekekekee

So once again, thank you all the uncles and aunties for all your lovely presents for justin. :-)

A day of the atas and famous

Thanks to Tristan for his kind invitation, last saturday,
I had the chance to experience an evening of the
rich and famous! =))

Never imagine myself having the chance to go out to the sea on a private yatch.

Been watching the Gems of Life show recently and always
envied them who can just go onto their yatch as and when.
Life of the rich. Only can dream for now.

And of cos, that day was a special day for Tristan too.
Because he was going to execute his Proposal.
And we were part of the advance party. So cool!

We reached earlier than the rest, as we need to make sure
we hide all the props properly, while waiting for the captain,
we start cam-whoring.

The entrance that was guarded by a security guard.
The fleet of yatches!
Which is the one we will board?
while waiting. cant resist but to take pics with the
colourful balloons.
Trust me. it was really stressful to carry the bunch of
balloons, cos so scared that it will fly into the air if i just let go my hand.
Grip tight!

Love this pic, taken by Kless' kick-ass camera!! Every thing looks so vibrant.

see the comparison in color. Taken by my non kick-ass cam.

Ok. time to work. Only have about 15 mins before the star of the night arrives.
and we have to leave the scene.
So all hard at work.

and this is the final prop.

time to leave the yatch, to go back to the lobby to meet the rest.

Finally all arrive, and we made our way back to the yatch.
All listening intently to the captain giving some basic instructions and
ettiques on the yatch.

and off we go!!!
Out to the sea!!!
Continue cam-whoring.
we trying to squeeze into the pic. Just nice! :-)

and as the yatch moves, enjoying the scenery and sea breeze.

Oh my!! The sun set is fab!!

Our fave pose!

Take a shot. See how hard i was gripping the handle bar.
Actually quite scary. cos i have phobia of dropping into the sea.
After a lot more phototaking to distract JY,
finally the real thing.
Time to pop the question.

And of cos, we are all so happy that JY say "orh"!
See the happy couple!

And we got them to do the titantic pose... ~~

And not forgetting a group picture!

Congrats Tris and Jie yim!!
Really happy for the 2 of you.
Saw you both from the time u get together
to now getting engaged!
Looking forward to your big day, which i am sure going to be 10times more glam!!

Blessings

As the year 2010 soon draws to a close in another 28 days time, i feel that its time to sit back and reflect the year, and to start to plan for 2011.

The year 2010 can be said to be a very roller coaster year for me.

Started off the year still in my maternity leave and the next 7 months was one of the most horrendous period of my life. Heartaches and disappointments and blows after blows were the things that i had to deal with in my career. Thank God in the midst of this, i have a super cute son, a super supportive husband and a very supportive family that i can look forward to every day. Now, as I look bad, I seriously thank God for givin me the strength to go through that tough period of time, and thank God that I survived and come out of it, stronger, at least in my sense.

God opened the door for me to a brand new environment, an area that I would never have imagine that I would step in. Though i am still in the finance sector, but I am exploring a total different aspect that I have not touched it in this perspective, in the last 8 years of my career.
Thankfully, I have a great team of colleagues, friendly managers, supportive management and an environment that greatly promotes effective learning.

How the job opportunity was a total miracle story by itself and i think many of my friends have already heard of it. In the past 2 months that I have joined the company, i have been given the opportunity to attend a regional meeting, went to taipei for a pricing training, had lots of fun with the finance team @ Sentosa (and i realise that my finance director is a very fun loving gal!! Quite surprising cos her outward appearance really don't tell it!) and the most recent family day event @ Universal Studio at Resort World Sentosa ( i still remember that I just made a very casual remark to God that how nice if i can get to go USS this year, and God really made it come to pass!! SO happy! )

Just this week, the asia finance director came over to SG, and he had a 1 to 1 session with every one of us on the team. A very pleasant guy. He asked me a question, which really set me thinking a lot for the direction of my career in this company. And the next 4 months is going to be tough, because there are so much expectations of me and also, i have a mega presentation coming up in Feb 11. if i don't make it, then it means exit for me already.

So, i can already foresee how tough its going to be for me. But i believe, God will not put me through something that I cannot handle or go through. So i believe, the next few months are indeed going to be very exciting months for me. I have learnt, never take every opportunity that comes your way for granted. Everythin in life indeed, is there and happens for a purpose.

Time to march on in 2011~~

I believe it is going to be a blast year!!~~~ =))))

Coffee !!

The yearly do a good deed and get rewarded affair is here once again. =)))

I feel that it is an awsome corporate social responsibility of Starbucks, to take part in such an activity. More than just promotion and marketing tactics, its really in line with the season of giving.
Indeed, i love x'mas, cos its really a season of love.
More than just all the feasting and gift exchanges,
its a time of gathering, and i love going about to prepare the xmas gifts for my family and friends.
I always believe, when we give with love, its not just the other party who will be delighted.
The giver will be blessed and happy as well, esp when you see the receiver having a big smile on the face, loving the gift that they received.
Reminds me of the great love that my Abba Father has for me.
He love me, thats why he gave his only son to exchange for all my sins and give me a new life.
Embrace it. Treasure it. Don't waste it.
x'mas is just 23 days away.
Start doing something today.
