Horrid Taxi Driver

Went for a meeting this morning with a Director to Hotel Ibis, to discuss some technical issues for the fixed assets. I feel that I must really blog about the stupid taxi driver..... cos his driving skills really sux big time can!!!!

We told him the place we wanted to go, he dunno where is it but he did not tell us at all... when we were nearing the place, I thought he knew where was the hotel. Who knows, he actually sent us to another hotel! OMG! Told him that this is not the place. Repeated the name of the hotel again. He went "orh;....." and drove off.... then he drove towards selegie road, which i already sense something is wrong. He went to another hotel, and tried to get us to alight.... by now, the director beside me, who was a old australian grandfather (LOL!!) was really pissed and told him this is not the place!

We had to give him directions how to go and directed him to the destination. By the time we reached the hotel, the taxi fare was close to 8 bucks. So the director told him we are only going to pay $5, which was the usual fare to travel from our office to the hotel. The taxi driver, who was a chinese national (No offense to all my chinese national friends out there), immediately spoke at the top of his voice, and said "No way!!" So the director angrily told him, its either $5 or he gets nothing. The driver tried to bargain and said $6 while the director insisted at $5. Eventually, he got no choice but to take the $5 and he tried to be funny again... ask us to give him the exact amount. say no change. So again the tussle went on..... no change, okie,,, bye!! So in the end, he still guai guai took the $10 and gave us the $5 change.

One thing i really learnt, we Asians tend to be much less aggressive when it comes to arguing for our rights. Even with unreasonable taxi drivers, i doubt many singaporeans will be that bold to argue with the taxi driver, what do you think?

God's confirmation

Indeed, like book of Isaiah says,

Isa 55: 8 >>
For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
Its really amazing at how God works.....was feeling so lost past few days, cos had a major decision that I had to make. Spoke to several people and I must say, all the different answers really confused me much more than of a help. So yesterday, went to find my spiritual leader and had a short talk with him, asked him for his advice. Felt slightly better after that. Went home and had a talk with my parents in law. They told me they would pray for me as well.
This morning, my MIL called me and shared with me what the Lord spoke to her whilst she was praying this morning. As I listened, i really wanted to cry. The things she spoke, was exactly what my team leader told me last night, and amazingly, Dear and me was also causually talking about the same thing before we prayed and slept last night. God is awesome, isn't he? When He sends confirmation, He does not just say once... he would send confirmations in different forms and by different people.
Now, I am feeling so much more at peace. Even though there is still a pinch of sadness welling up inside me, feeling the pain of the lost opportunity, but I will hold on to the word that God has spoken. He never fails, He never will.
