2 weeks ago, when we brought him back to the PD for his rotavirus and pneumococcal vaccine, the doctor told us that his weight gain is not enough for a 5-month old baby. In fact, he belong to the 25th percentile babies. Actually, it did not come as a surprise for me, as most of you know how difficult it is to get my son to drink his milk for the past 4 months..every feed was really like a battle of wits with him. So when he is able to finish 150ml of milk, I would be delighted. =)
The happy thing is that ever since he turn 5 months old, somehow, his appetite kind of stabilised and every 3hr feed, he was drinking 150ml of breast milk. He can also easily switch between formula milk n breastmilk now, and he can drink up to a max of 170ml of formula milk. Good news for my mother in law, who is his caregiver during the weekdays, cos it means that it is now much easier to feed him.
At 21 weeks, he make his first flip.. the longawaited flip!!! Kekeke.. well done baby!! And yes, ever since he learnt how to flip, it is no longer safe to leave him alone on the bed anymore. This is the major con of him learning how to turn. Within the split of the second, he will be at the other end of the bed. Not to say the difficulty of making him stay still when we try to change his clothes. But nonetheless, its a great milestone for him. Yay!
And yesterday, he gave me another big surprise when i came back from work. I was dashing in and out of the room preparing to go for cell group, and so i told gerald to feed Justin. And dada!!! He actually wanted to hold his own milk bottle!!! He held on to his bottle all the way till he finished his milk, and he even knew how to take the bottle out to have a break in between before he continue drinking. Smart boy leh!! (pardon me for my biasedness, but I really think he is a clever boy!! Hehehe)
Another milestone for Justin!
Thats why i say, my boy is really growing up so fast that I tell myself, I better be diligent to record down all his milestone and I do not want to waste any moments not being part of his growing up years. =)
