Its a col…………ld and wet weekend!!

The rain has starting since sat evening and not yet stopped till this morning.

Wonder why got so much rain? Will there be flooding in some parts of singapore again?

its such a cooling weather to sleep in, snuggle up in bed if we can…

most importantly, Baby Justin is now resting at home and apart from the medicine feeding time, he is almost back to his old self (minus all the whining and stickiness when i am at home).

Looking forward to the holidays this weekend!!! Woohoo!!!

Stressful week

This is the most STRESSFUL week of my life.
Apart from the presentation dry run that was supposed to take place on tuesday,
it was the admission of my precious son to the hospital due to KD.
I think i should dedicate a separate entry for the sickness and ordeal itself.
Now, we are almost like medical expert, knowing so much
about this sickness. From 0% to 95% now.
All started off with his fever last thursday, which we all though was
just the normal children fever, plus his premolar was coming out..
never did we expect that things will become that severe.
on Monday morning, we brought him to NUH emergency again and
there after, he was warded as an emergency KD case.
U can see how miserable he look...
Pic taken before he was warded
showing all the clinical symptoms
(almost like hit jackpot... because he has 100% of all the possible symptoms)
soon, he was pretty sedated

It was really a heart breaking moment, to see him on drips,
so lethargic, dont even have strength to move about or open his
eyes on the first day.
Basically, he was sleeping through the whole day and barely
awake for more than 1 hour that whole day.
Did 4 more blood tests, one echo scan, 2 ECG, 1 X-ray.

And on night 1, doc came and said that he was
NOT responding as well to the treatment as what she expect.
Cos he was running a high fever and heartbeat was
all time high @ 180+.
So they standby ICU and the whole house-team to
be on 24hr standby and red alert.

Second day was worse.
because he was starting to get dehydrated, his lips cracked.
So it was painful even to drink from his bottle.
No choice.
Doc had to add one more drip to him.
HEARTPAIN TO THE MAX!!!!
After my presentation, i chiong to the hospital, and i almost broke down
on the spot, cos he had tubes all over and he was crying like
a small kitten, cos he kind of lost his voice also.
SIGH~~~

Thankfully, most of the rashes all over his body and palms subsided halfway
through the treatment.
By yesterday morning, his treatment was completed.
And praise the Lord.
Baby Justin fought the battle very well.
So far, the only rashes left are those on his legs.
which the doc says will take a couple of weeks to fully subside.

Now, we are waiting for the doctor to give him the report card to go home,
as they are keeping him under 48hrs observations to see if there is
any reactions to the treatment and ensuring the fever does not come back.

I am praying that Baby Justin can go home tomorrow.
I believe he will enjoy himself more when he is at home.
A happier soul also allows him to recover faster and better.
Even though medically, doctor say that he need 4-6 weeks to fUlly recover,
and there is a 3% chance of relapse, and that
this is a long term sickness that need prolonged
followup, i am rejecting and cursing all these in the
name of Jesus!!!
My baby is going to be up on his feet soon and back to his
happy days, crawling and drooling ard!!!
Get well soon baby!!

Wedding planning

Recently, i have 2 good friends who are in the process of preparing for their wedding.

Looking at how they are going through the whole process, started me remembering my own wedding preparation 4 years ago.

Gerald proposed in Oct 2005, we got ROMed in 2006, and had our customary, holy matrimony and wedding dinner in 2007. In a way, we were more fortunate as we kind of had more time to plan and get things prepared.

But frankly, other than settling the dinner venue and the gown package, all other things only start kicking off like 3 months before the actual wedding day itself.

I still remember how stressful it was during that time. Because I also tendered and decided to move to a new company just 1 month before my wedding. So having to cope with the new working environment and juggling with all the wedding preps, it was really one stressful period.

But eventually, everything fell in place nicely and somehow, the wedding day just passed so fast.

Now, whenever i hear of people preparing for their wedding, i am also excited and one thing that i always tell the couple, is that you got to really enjoy the process, since its really once in a life time thing. Though its easier said than done, but really, after the whole thing, when you look back, you will really miss the times (though i don't know how many people will agree with me. Hahahaha) . Personally, i am a gown fanatic.. so thats the part that i really enjoyed the most!!! Trying on gowns and going for the photoshoot are the best part of the whole planning process. :-)

wedding is a happy occassion. Just do what you think will make you happy. Thats the most impt.

Year end close

It has been a lonnnnggg time since i stayed in office till midnight.
In another 25 mins, its going to be midnight already.

This is my first year end close in the current company, and its really no joke.

How to ever close in 3 work days.... i seriously think its madness.

The whole of yesterday and today, the 2 GL accountants (aka me and my neighbour) has to close like 5 sets of books and in the midst, problems after problems came up....

So now in the office, there are just 3 of us. and I am waiting for my neighbour to pass in her last journal entry, for me to recompute the whole tax and pass in the tax entry, before i can go home to my bed.

man... i am tired.. very exhausted.

i wish weekend can come soon.... so that i can have some rejuvenating time with justin......

*yawns* and the waiting continues....

bye bye 2010, hello 2011

One always say, how you end the year will determine how you enter the new year.

If you want a good year ahead, end the year with a big bang.

2010 has been a roller coaster year for me.

New role as a mum, new house, new responsibilities, new job, new colleagues, new friendships, not forgetting new problems, new challenges, new heartaches, new trials.

I will say, 2010 has been one of the most challenging year for me so far.

But still,

there are many happy things that happened in 2010.

Such as

1) A happy Baby - the joy and pride of mama kris.
All things are worth for this precious one.

2) a wonderful hubby who stand by me at all times,
and in all circumstance, my source of support.
this year marks our 10th year of pak toh.
my Soulmate, my best friend.

3) very blessed to have a set of parents and in-laws who love my son alot.

And of cos, always helping me out whenever i need to work or to have me-time.

Awesome.

4) A bunch of funloving people from W477. So proud to have the chance to lead this group of people.

5) Wonderful friendship that was strengthened this year.

We hang out so often that we formed the formidable gang "刚"!! :D

Precious friends that i gained in 2010.

My fellow accountant buddy.

The couple that can sing very well.

The couple going to get married in 5 days time.

The couple that is like my spiritual parents.

My spiritual mentor and best friend.

Our outings.

Believing that 2011 going to be even more awesome.

I proclaim it by faith!!

high fever

This is the first time that Justin has a high fever ever since he was born. Count it a blessing a what.

But i must say, i was really a bit at a loss at what to do last night.

He was still looking fine on monday night, except that for the past few days, he has not been drinking much of his milk, and appetite has dropped. So i already suspected something amiss. Add to the fact that my mother in law suddenly caught a severe flu on monday (and she was taking care of Justin the whole of monday), i think somehow, he caught the flu virus in a way.

By tuesday afternoon, i think the fever won the battle. And by the time i came back from work, his forehead was hot, but both hands and feet were freezing cold. And when i changed him, we noticed that his body was starting to have red patches. So we knew it was not just the low grade fever anymore.

We rushed over to the PD, and actually when we reached there, PD was already closed cos he was rushing to the hospital. I told the nurse that Justin was having fever and he even vomitted on the car on the way, and he has not taken milk for the whole day. Thank God, the PD heard and decided to just see Justin before he take off. Heng man..

He took his temperature and it was 39.3 degrees celsius!!! When we took his temperature at home, it was only 37.8. Think the thermometer can throw away liaoz.
So he gave the repository pill that is supposed to be stuck into the anus, to bring down the fever quickly and prescribed him some medication. Due for review on thursday night.

I was really expecting a tough night ahead. But i really thank God for a good kid. Other than the initial part when we tried to put the cooling plaster on his forehead, which only stayed there for ehm.. 30seconds before he tore it off, and another 1 hour to put him to bed, he only woke up once during the night and the next feed at 6am, when his fever went up again. After giving him medication and a bottle of milk, pat him for another hour before he went off to lala land for another 2 hours.

Just as i expected, the whole morning, he was super whiny and sticky. Even his favourite ball ball never interest him. Haiz.

Next few days going to be a tough period for me. year end closing and all the datelines coming up. God, i pray for strength and speedy recovery for Justin!!!
