Yummy Zi-char

Last night had a gathering with my ex-colleagues for a birthday celebration.

Having some good foodies in the group, they brought us to this coffeeshop selling zichar : old Lai Huat

The place is right smacked opposite the Jalan Besar Stadium and

is probably about a 10 mins walk away from Lavender Mrt.

It is an ordinary looking zi char stall.

only bad thing about this place: no aircon and they have limited cold drink selections.

Hot ah!!

 

But overall, we were all very satisfied with the food that was ordered.

All of us left with a satisfied tummy! *thumbs up*

Some of the dishes that we ordered:

Sambal Balachen pomfret – signature dish

Black pepper crayfish

Prawn paste chicken

Sambal mussel

Yam ring

Sea-cucumber with duck feet

I will definitely go back there again with my family, cos the pomfret is really GOOD!

My breakfast

Since young, breakfast is always an important part of my daily routine to start the day Right.

Without breakfast, something will seem to be missing from my day.

So i must always have a Full-Filling breakfast.=))

Recently, the cooking bug is stuck on me.

I have been trying out a few dishes and with the ingredients that I have in my fridge,

I made a Ham-and-egg sandwich for myself. >3

First crocs

i was never a lover of crocs.

I always think that how ugly can this shoe be,

and why would any adult wear it out onto the streets in that chunky bulky shoes that seems so ever hard to match any clothes.

However, my perception of crocs improved, after i laid my hands on my first pair of crocs,

which i bought for my HK trip.

As i needed something that can allow me to walk comfortably for long hours and with a heavy load,

something easy to pack into my luggage, and a not too expensive pair of good shoe.

And so, when i saw this pair was on 40% discount in Queensway shopping centre 2 weeks ago, i tried, quite like it, and bought it immediately. :-))

So, my verdict for this pair of shoe: Worth the money!

At least I did not have muscle cramps from the continous walking, but i would surely have them if i have wore slippers,

nor did i get any blisters, which i probably will get them if I have wore those normal flats.

But I seriously do not think I will get a second pair of crocs for myself. One is enough, at least for now.

To have my first attempt at the SMELLY TOFU 臭豆腐!!

The last 2 times when I was in Taipei, I was not brave enough to give it a try,

despite my taiwan colleagues all told me how great it was.

So this time round, i braved my heart and strength…

and decided to go for it..

Verdict??

Taste GREAT!!!

Really like what people say, smell like rubbish, but taste like heavenly delicacy!!! YUMS TTM!

Shall try it again next time when i have the chance. *Thumbs up*

祸不单行

正所谓，祸不单行。

Since the start of 2011, we have been visiting the hospital so often, that i think it exceeds the no. of times that we step into the hospital over the last five years.

Ended the year 2010 when my dad had the irregular heart beat, which we though he had heart attack.

In Jan, Justin was admitted to NUH for a week and had a tough fight with the virus.

In February, my dad went NUH for the heart surgery to remove the extra vein in the heart.

Pray that no more heart breathlessness from now on.

Early april, my grand-dad had a fall in the middle of the night.

Ended up with a broken arm and brusies on the head and elbow.

Stayed in SGH for 5 days, went home, fell down the next day again. Sigh~~~

And just barely 2 weeks, now my grand-ma make it to the list.

She scalded herself rather badly last thursday, and as usual,

being garang, refused to go to A&E until her wound was totally exposed and had many

blisters on her leg. Pain until could not walk anymore.

Finally, she was admitted to SGH burns centre.

The joke was, originally, my aunt told my mum that my grandma had 5th degree burn.

I was freaked out.

ended up was a misunderstanding.

She was 5% burnt. But bad enuff lah, for a 70+ year old lady, with diabetes.

So she did the skin grafting surgery yesterday.

So looks like going to be another week’s stay for her.

now, one has an arm casted, and one has a leg casted. =,=

God, i pray for speedy recovery for ah ma and ah gong.

most importantly, pray that no more hospital visits for the rest of the year!!!!!

I pray for good health for everyone in Jesus’ mighty name! AMEN and amen!

Hmm…

election date is finally finalised and announced. And it is Gerald’s bday as well!!

And so happen that the Tay family is going to be away on this eventful date

that every Singaporean will be anticipating.

Good news is that MM Lee has spoken and confirmed that he will continue to run for Tanjong Pagar constituency.

Haha. Means 95% chance that it will be a no-voting required election for us again.

But we will miss out all the juicy election updates and vote count.

Now, i must go and check where is the election talks going to be held for Radin Mas Constituency…

will be interesting to go and hear what the parties has got to offer this time round..:-)

Weekend is over?

Aiyoh.. Why is the weekend over so fast? Barely done much and it's going to be a new working week again.....

Consolation is that this is a short working week but it also means I need to work triply fast to complete my assignments!!
